At age 8 she wrote her first poem and also start learning belly dancing. In 1991 she was signed by Sony Colombia and made her first studio album that were sold 1000 copies. Her third studio album, Pies Descalzos, brought her fame in Latin America and was sold over 5 million copies. In 2001 she released, album, Laundry Service, a cross-over album in English. It became very popular in non-Spanish-speaking countries. shakira won two Grammy awards and seven Latin Grammy Awards. Shakira is a real talented person she can write and sing in both Spanish and English, and her belly dancing (aka shaking that booty) is awesome! |
